2011 | International Conference ‘Reframing Gender, Reframing Critique’

As part of the international conference ‘Reframing Gender, Reframing Critique’, the event explored how gender studies and feminist critique need to be redefined in the face of globalisation, migration and social change. The focus was on questions regarding how gender, the body, sexuality and emotions are socially constructed and how they interact with other forms of social differentiation and normalisation. International keynote speakers and interdisciplinary panels discussed new forms of inequality, belonging and agency, as well as the challenges facing critical gender studies in the 21st century.
