2005 | SGGF-Conference “Gender in Motion. New Perspectives in Gender Studies”

The international conference “Gender in Motion” brought over a hundred academics and students from various countries to Basel. The focus was on current debates surrounding gender, equality and difference, as well as the question of how space, narrative and social power relations help to construct gender. New approaches in gender studies, biographical research and transnational feminism were discussed – as were the contradictions between feminist theory and lived reality.
