The SGGF ist pleased that 15 candidates from different disciplines, from both German- and French-speaking parts of Switzerland, submitted their work for the Brigitte Schnegg Prize 2019. The jury did not have an easy task evaluating these great submissions. Nevertheless, we are happy to finally award Dr. iur. Nula Frei with the prize for her dissertation: “Menschenhandel und Asyl – Die Umsetzung der völkerrechtlichen Verpflichtungen zum Opferschutz im schweizerischen Asylverfahren“.
The jury has also decided to award an honorable mention to Mathilde Schnegg for her master thesis “ Les Politiques Suisses de Contraception : Le fédéralisme à l’épreuve du genre”.
Following the general assembly, Dr. iur. Nula Frei will be giving a talk with the title “’Le recours est admis’: Negotiating the rights of trafficking victims into Swiss asylum law.”
The prize ceremony starts at 18:15 in Room 033 of the University of Berne main building (Hochschulstrasse 4), and is open to members and non-members alike. This event will be followed by an apéro to which all attendees are equally invited.
